1998 Land Rover Defender Wolf TUL Hard
Detailed history of movements and maintenance while with the MoD (originally 1 CS BN REME); reconditioned engine; recent MOT; recently driven to the UK from France; showing only 31,000 miles (49,240km)
Brightwells have sold many of these military Land Rovers over the last few years, having held the Ministry of Defence Government Disposals Contract for some time now.
According to military records on file, this particular Wolf was first released from the Ashchurch stores in 2004 to 1 Close Support Battalion to the REME, so one would like to assume it was well looked after in its early days. After this it appears to have been stationed with the Queens Royal Hussars until 2008 when it was looked after by the Yorkshire regiment until 2011. Looking at it, we cannot imagine it was used much while in service and since then it has mostly been in storage so although we can not guarantee it, the odometer is probably correct at 49,240 kilometres. It also appears to have been regularly maintained while in the military, based on details on file.
Our vendor acquired the Landy in 2020, when it was UK registered for public roads and a Heritage Certificate was obtained to confirm its origins along with the military history. It’s a top example and has been regularly used (in fact, our vendor has driven it from France for the auction!), covering 5,000km since he has owned it.
The floors, bulkhead and chassis all appear to be sound and apart from a few age related marks, the truck looks very respectable.
Most recently it has had a new LOF extreme spec clutch fitted, new master and slave cylinders, new tyres, an RTC steering damper, Panhard rod bushes, rear shocks, two new batteries and a cam belt in June this year.
Lovely and original, apart from a repainted back door and what looks like a re-conditioned engine (very common), this is a great opportunity to get your hands on one of these magnificent bits of kit.
