Brightwells have sold many of these military Land Rovers over the last few years, having held the Ministry of Defence Government Disposals Contract for some time now.
This Defender Wolf was bought direct from the MoD via the last holders of the contract in approximately 2015 and appears to have had the engine 're-manufactured' in 2011. It has been part of a large collection and has done very little since, the owners having only tested the vehicle to ensure it runs and drives and thus has not seen any additional use after it’s time with the Marines. Although one can not guarantee the distance covered by these military Landrovers, the incredibly low KM showing on the speedo certainly seems consistent with the very clean and tidy chassis underneath, the unworn pedals and the pristine diesel filler cap/filter. Some of the more perishable aspects of the vehicle have suffered a little though, possibly due to being based with the Marines down south, but if you are familiar with these vehicles, you will know that they are pretty easy cars to work on and most parts are readily available.
These winterised and waterproofed machines always look like a lot of fun and our vendor has already paid the VAT on this one so it is looking good value. It includes the official declassification document from the MoD which will need presenting to the DVLA if registering it in the UK.
