1989 Morgan 4/4 1600

Only 5,000 miles from new; has spent virtually all its life on the Isle of Man; lovely order throughout

First registered in September 1989, this lovely Morgan 4/4 two-seater was exported to the Isle of Man when it was less than a year old and was to remain there for the next 31 years, returning to mainland UK in May this year. It is showing only 5,170 miles on the clock which is said to be correct and is backed up by an email from the previous owner and also by the general condition of the car.
The original handbook is present with just one stamp in the service section by Kay Motors of Ramsey at 1,007 miles in June 1990. There are also copies of two Isle of Man registration documents which imply that it had just two owners on the island, the first from 1990 – 2020.
As you can see in the photos, it is in excellent condition throughout, the only real defects we noted being some slight blistering of the paint around the Morgan badge at the front and some deterioration of the chrome on the bonnet release knobs. Not bad for a 32-year-old sportscar!
Starting promptly and running sweetly as we have moved it around on site, with excellent oil pressure as one would expect, it has an MOT until May 2022 with no advisories recorded.
