1947 Rover 14 Saloon
No Reserve
With
our vendor since 2016 and the previous owner since 1997; re-cored radiator
and new battery in the last few years
Since
it was first registered in 1947, this post-war Rover has had nine recorded
keepers, all of whom are mentioned within the file. This includes a
rather a nice note from a late owner recounting how he managed to get in
touch with Mr Hicks, its second owner who remembered buying the car from its
first owner who had kept it for 28 years!
A few logbooks
and MOTs later, the car has been in fairly regular use over the decades and
would have been maintained over the years but most recently has had a new
exhaust (1998) new fan belt, plugs, leads and points, the radiator re-cored
(2017), new battery (2019) and has had the carb stripped and cleaned. The vendor
rather run out of time before the auction so although the carb has been worked
on, it has not been set up quite right, so the car is running rather rich at the
moment.
Its not a concours contender, however
it has worn its 75 years well and after a little tinkering, could
certainly be used and enjoyed. Offered here with no reserve, the highest bidder
will take her home on the day.

- Put in your highest bid you would be prepared to go to.
