1994 Mercedes-Benz E220 Cabriolet
Charming 4-seat cabriolet finished in white with contrasting blue leather piped white; showing just 56,663 miles - investment alert!
Dating from May 1994 and supplied by Anderson Mercedes Benz of Tyne and Wear, this attractive, face-lift E220 Cabriolet is finished in two tone Polar white with beautifully contrasting blue mohair hood. Sitting on its original 15" multi-hole alloy wheels, it looks very much the 90's class act it was - and still is.
Inside, we find lovely blue leather piped white with matching dashboard, console and carpets with over mats, walnut trim, dual zone temperature control (without A/C), electric roof with heated glass rear screen, electric pop-up rear head-rests that double as roll-over protection, walnut trim, electric mirrors, electric windows, radio/CD player, heated front seats, front centre arm rest, functioning seat-belt butlers and hugely useful removable pop up/down rear wind deflector which makes a considerable difference with the roof down
Under the hood, we find the 150bhp 2.2-litre four-cylinder that offers sufficient performance combined with economy driving the rear wheels through 4-speed automatic transmission with Sports and Economy modes.
Showing just 56,633 miles, the car has been with our Mercedes-Benz enthusiast and collector since July 2011, during which time he has toured Europe with the car, enjoying every mile. Between trips the car has lived in a secure climate controlled classic car storage facility in Herefordshire along with several other of his collection.
Within the history file we find the V5C showing five previous keepers, owner's pack and file of old MOTs and invoices. Looking at the bills on file, we see the C124 has been treated to a set of Michelllin tyres in October 2014 at a cost of £355, repair to the rear light wiring and service in April 2012 at 50,990 miles, had the engine cleaned internally with EDT and renewed the brake fluid at 55,109 miles in May 2016 at a cost of £217.20 by an Independant MB specialist, repacement ABS module, instroment cluster reostat , boot struts and MOT at a cost of £562 in September 2018, a new rear exhaust section in 2008 at a cost of £218 and further historic annual service invoices dating from our vendors purchase in 2011 back to the car's first service by supplying dealer Anderson Mercedes including the original bill of sale (£32,323.40) to its first owner of 6 years, Mr A. Duckworth of Sunderland. The sale from the first owner to second, a lady is also documented with a receipt of sale for some £20,000.
In addition, we find two sets of keys and emergency keys, an impressive 20 old MOTs dating back to 1997 which confirm the car's low mileage up in addition to the invoiced history on file. The car's MOT expired in Septeber 2019 when just one advisory was recorded for a brake pipe corroded or covered in grease at which point the car had covered 56,433 miles just 200 miles have been covered since with the car having remained in storage since. With recent, and current restrictions our vendor has, with regret, not been able to travel up from East Sussex to attend to the MOT in time for the sale.
