Supplied new in March 2004 this UK market spec Lancer Evolution VIII FQ330 hails from Mitsubishi UK's legendry team at Ralliart who built all the UK cars and is offered here in 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo form pumping out 330bhp (hence the FQ330 accolade) with 6-speed manual transmission driving all-four wheels with AYC unit giving optional drive modes depending on the surface, road, gravel or snow.
Finished in Silver with grey Alcantara and leather Recaro interior and sitting on a set of attractive black after market wheels, the car leaves no doubt as to the performance potential within.
It comes from near 16 year ownership and is only for sale due to the passing of the long term, mature owner who, during his tenure upgraded various items including larger turbo from an Evo IX, new fuel pressure regulator, fully adjustable DC Racing suspesion, AYC pump overhaul by Hockley motorsport, new suspension bushes, new clutch in 2017, huge K-Sport big brake conversion, 3-port boost solenoid, Walbro 255 high capacity fuel pump and attractive Volks Racing wheels from Japan wearing Michellin Pilot Sport tyres.
Within the history file, we find the current V5C, old style V5, installation guide for the Big Brake Kit (TUV Approved), 13 old MOTs dating back to 2008, Tracker pack and host of invoices including for fitment of the Evo 9 turbo with fitting kit, Walbro 255 fuel pump, 3-port boost solenoid, de-cat and remap on rolling road at a cost of some £2,200 in June 2015 with the rolling road session showing a max of 341bhp at Surrey Rolling Road in July 2015. Another bill shows purchase of an Exedy clutch kit in 2017 at a cost of £459 from Demon Tweeks, another for purchase of a Longlife stainless catback system at £399 in 2013, installation of a Cobra Cat1 alarm system in June 2016 costing £499 and an overhaul of the rear diff pump (AYC pump) by Hockley Motorsport in April 2016 at a cost of £555.79. There are receipts for four Michellin Pilot Sport tyres in Nov 2017 at a cost of £559.20, the vehicle purchase invoice in 2005 for the car when it had covered just c.15,000 miles at £20,995 from WD Cars with a Nissan Skyline as a PX and a considerable array of regular service receipts from a Mitsubishi main dealer and other independants including timing belt change right back to the beginning of our long term owner's ownership.
The most recent service receipt on file suggests the car was serviced in August 2019 at 81,375 miles by New Road Garage of Gelli who have looked after the car regularly for many years. The car currently shows just 81,715 miles of which only a handful look to have been covered over the last 4 years. Due a service in respect of time and likely also a timing belt, the car represents an exciting opportunity given the condition and spend evident, not just on maintenance but also in terms of the 'no expense spared' attitude to the various alluring upgrades. The current MOT is valid until March 2022 with no advisories recorded. The MOT history shows the car to have covered little more than 3,000 miles/year with no test recorded during 2020 due to the owner's ill-health.
